Local family law firm wins big in LA
One of Canberra’s newest and biggest family law firms has won a prestigious 2008 Award for Outstanding Achievement in Practice.
Dobinson Davey Clifford Simpson Lawyers, formed just over a year ago, was awarded the title at the Law Australasia (LA) annual national conference held recently in Queensland. The firm was chosen because of its outstanding achievements and commitment to excellence in all facets of practice management says David Vilensky, Chairperson of Law Australasia. Law Australasia is an independent association of 18 prominent law firms across Australia and New Zealand, which focuses exclusively on law firm practice management. Mr Vilensky said that member firms are subjected to ‘brutal scrutiny’ in an environment he describes as ‘constructive criticism at its finest’. Mr Vilensky said that Dobinson Davey Clifford Simpson Lawyerswere thoroughly deserving winners of this year’s award.
Mr Vilensky said Dobinson Davey Clifford Simpson Lawyersis itself a driver of performance. ‘The firm is highly client focused with lawyers matching clients’ needs and circumstances to the appropriate dispute resolution option rather than imposing their own preferences.
Dobinson Davey Clifford Simpson Lawyerswas also recognised for its rapid, sustained growth. The firm was founded by four passionate senior practitioners who had a vision of building a practice with clients’ interests at its centre. The success of the firm has seen its professional staff grow to nine lawyers and necessitated a move to larger premises. Since June 30, it has been located at the New Acton development near the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, in very non-traditional offices.
Law Australasia has, as one of its principle objectives, to help member firms achieve best practice in practice management and client service. It has member firms in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Auckland and a diverse range of country and regional areas.
